From the 1st April 2025, applicants will be able to make a homeless application online via SKHomechoice. The purple banner to make this application will appear if you answer yes to a particular question when creating your profile. It is also advisable to complete a Housing Register at the same time. Some questions may be repeated on both forms however this is necessary.

Please note - the system will show you ANY properties that you are eligible for based on your bedroom need; adaptation requirements and whether you qualify for sheltered. It does not take into account your preferred areas so you will also be shown properties in an area you may not want so that you have an idea of what is available in the whole of the District.

Important - You will only be able to place on a bid on a property once your application has been processed and made active. You will receive a letter once this has been done. We are receiving a large amount of calls and emails asking when we will process an application/how long it will take.  Please do not contact us if your only request is how long it will take as we are unable to provide any timescales and it only delays the process even further.
